Important News About the RP Campaign
Starting July 1, 2026, the RP Campaign now directs every gift through three funds instead of six. The purpose behind your giving has not changed. The path to it is just clearer.
- Research Funds ASHRAE’s core research program, advancing the science behind healthier, safer, more efficient buildings.
- Endowed Research Builds a permanent base whose earnings fund research year after year, for generations of engineers to come.
- Scholarships Invests in the next generation, supporting students entering the HVAC&R profession.
WHY WE MADE THE CHANGE
- Clearer for donors. Three funds are easy to understand and easy to choose between.
- Stronger stewardship. A simpler structure means gifts are tracked and directed with greater integrity.
- Built to last. Consolidation follows giving best practices and strengthens the campaign for the long term.
YOUR ROLE
As an RP volunteer, you are the first person a donor asks about this change. Lead with the mission: their gift today supports ASHRAE’s core philanthropic priorities. If they want to support the funds that are no longer included in RP, they can make gifts outside of the RP Campaign.
